Bear our Breasts: We 'Bear' Our Breasts

No, its not a spelling mistake.... the word 'bear' is used instead of 'bare' highly intentionally, I assure you. As women, we bear a hell of a lot.

For those of you who haven't read about the project before, you can get all the details here.

I am sick of how women are treated in Pakistani society, the concepts of honour and ownership associated with women....and their bodies.

This project is meant to be a step towards ownership of our own bodies. And a demonstration of the kinds of oppression, fear, intolerance and objectification women face on a daily basis in the 'land of the pure'.

When I asked for submissions, I honestly didn't think I'd get any responses or much support... but I am truly thankful that this was not the case. I continue to receive wonderful submissions from Pakistani women of all walks of life, all shapes and sizes....you are all beautiful, strong and bold....and we are making history together.

I would also like to thank the wonderful people who supported my cause by helping to spread the word.

I noticed some people who are usually happy to interact with me and support my cause for sexual education and equality in Pakistan ...withdraw...I guess boobs are just too risque for you. Disappointed.

The crazies showing their outright disapproval only make this project stronger, so I'd like to thank you too!

Comments on this blog will be monitored, so anything horrible, cruel said about someone's physical appearance will definitely not be published.

Now before I post the highly anticipated and much asked about first ever #BearOurBreasts boob shots, let me introduce myself to those who may be seeing my work for the first time; I'm Eiynah, a Pakistani-Canadian blogger/illustrator who writes/draws mainly about sex and sexuality in Pakistan.
